About Us
The Shoe Fits Strategic Advisors and Investments was founded in Louisiana with a simple purpose: to help organizations make better decisions in the fast-changing world of connectivity, infrastructure, broadband, fiber, and technology-driven development.
Rooted in practical, relationship-focused values, the company was built to serve clients with honesty, clarity, technical understanding, and real-world experience. The Shoe Fits exists for organizations that need more than generic advice. We provide thoughtful consulting, actionable information, practical education, and a customer experience grounded in trust, responsiveness, and results.
Built From Real Industry Experience
Our strength comes from direct experience across multiple sides of the industry. We have worked in the field, led construction teams, managed operations, supported business development, negotiated contracts, planned networks, served hyperscale customers, coordinated with municipalities and utilities, and advised infrastructure stakeholders.
That broad perspective allows us to understand the needs of owners, contractors, vendors, service providers, investors, communities, and project teams.
Our Approach
The company’s name reflects a belief that the right solution must fit the client, the market, the project, and the long-term goal.
We listen first, ask the right questions, explain complex issues clearly, and help clients build strategies that are practical, defensible, and executable.
Our Mission
From Louisiana to markets across the country, our mission is to provide high-quality consulting, reliable information, useful education, and a better customer experience for organizations building the connected future.
President & Co-Founder
Matthew Shoemaker is the Co-Founder and President of The Shoe Fits Strategic Advisors and Investments, bringing nearly 20 years of telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, outside plant construction, hyperscale connectivity, and business development experience to the firm.
Matthew’s connection to the contracting world started long before his executive career. He grew up around a family-owned contracting firm, spent summers pulling a lasher on aerial line crews, setting handholes, and learning the rhythm of the field. That early experience gave him a lasting respect for the people who build America’s infrastructure.
Over the course of his career, Matthew has moved across the country helping build networks, teams, branches, markets, and systems of many types. He has supported FTTH deployments, dark fiber networks, smart-grid fiber, hyperscale data center connectivity, OSP construction programs, acquisitions, market expansions, and multi-million-dollar contract negotiations.
Matthew briefly stepped away from the industry to serve as a firefighter, but his drive for connectivity and the belief that infrastructure can strengthen communities kept pulling him back.
As President, Matthew helps clients turn complex connectivity challenges into practical, executable strategies. His leadership blends hands-on field experience, executive-level planning, technical understanding, and deep respect for the men and women who bring infrastructure projects to life.
